Whole Body Vibration FAQs

  • Whole Body Vibration is an innovative, safe, and effective exercise option. It is the use of a moving platform at specific frequencies and amplitudes to superimpose vibration on normal functional strengthening exercises. WBV works directly through the nervous system creating a significant increase in the normal physiological responses of the body to exercise.

  • If one of the conditions listed below applies to you we strongly advise that you consult with your physician before using the WBV machine. If you have any known health concerns in addition to this list, consult your physician and advise them you wish to begin a sonic vibration exercise program which vibrates in a vertical plane between 3-50 Hz (vibrations per second) and has an adjustable intensity (rate at which the plate vibrates up and down). Your body may endure between negative and positive 3 Gs of force for up to 10 minutes. This can be equivalent to 1 hour of cardio.

Research has shown similar strength gains to conventional resistance training at a fraction of the time. Ten minutes of Vibration exercise produces similar results to 60 minutes of conventional training. Therefore, Whole Body Vibration provides an effective solution to those that may benefit from weight training, but are unable to engage in that type of exercise program.
